An Atomic Receiver for AM and FM Radio Communication

چکیده

Radio reception relies on antennas for the collection of electromagnetic fields carrying information, and receiver elements demodulation retrieval transmitted information. Here, we demonstrate an atom-based AM FM microwave communication with a 3 dB bandwidth in baseband ~100 kHz that provides optical circuit-free field pickup, multiband carrier capability, inherently high sensitivity. The exploits field-sensitive cesium Rydberg vapors centimeter-sized glass cell, electromagnetically induced transparency, quantum-optical effect, as readout signals modulated onto carriers frequencies ranging over four octaves, from C-band to Q-band. Receiver bandwidth, dynamic range sideband suppression are characterized, acquisition audio waveforms human vocals demonstrated. atomic is valuable technology because it does not require antenna structures resilient against interference, while affording operation single compact receiving element.

FM/AM car-radio receiver front-end for IF-sampling systems with fully integrated VCO

The TDA7528 is a front-end module for use in car radio receivers with digital IF processing, using the STA3004, respectively the STA3005 backend IC. Its field of use includes all the current radio broadcast services in the range of 50kHz to 163MHz for AM radio, FM radio and US weather band. Digital standards such as DRM and HD radio can also be handled. A single supterheterodyne architecture wi...

Simulation and Synthesis of an AM Software Radio Receiver

This paper describes the implementation of an AM/FM radio receiver in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). Using FPGA as the hardware platform, this approach brings together the flexibility of software and the speed of hardware to build a reconfigurable system, i.e. the behavior of the radio receiver can be changed by simply modifying the software without new hardware. RF modulated signals are...

Fingerprint classification using an AM-FM model

Research on fingerprint classification has primarily focused on finding improved classifiers, image and feature enhancement, and less on the development of novel fingerprint representations. Using an AM–FM representation for each fingerprint, we obtain significant gains in classification performance as compared to the commonly used National Institute of Standards system, for the same classifier.

Radio-over-fiber AM-to-FM upconversion using an optically injected semiconductor laser.

A radio-over-fiber system uses light to carry a microwave subcarrier on optical fibers. The microwave is usually frequency modulated for wireless broadcasting. A conventional optical communication system usually operates at the baseband with amplitude modulation. The interface of the two systems thus needs an upconversion from the baseband to the microwave band with AM-to-FM transformation. An ...

Speech analysis and synthesis using an AM-FM modulation model

In this paper, the AM{FM modulation model is applied to speech analysis, synthesis and coding. The multiband demodulation pitch tracking algorithm is proposed that produces smooth and accurate fundamental frequency contours. The AM{ FM modulation vocoder represents speech as the sum of resonance signals modeled by their amplitude envelope and instantaneous frequency signals. E cient modeling an...
